Kari Randall, LPC, EMDR Consultant, IFS Level 2

I'm Kari Randall, LPC.  I specialize in consultation through the eight phases of EMDR, the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

As a Registered Play Therapist, I incorporate play and creative expression to help clients externalize parts and overcome blocks in their processing. Firmly believing that our bodies hold our experiences, I have pursued advanced training in somatic EMDR to deepen my approach.

As a therapist, discovering a new modality can be exhilarating—it feels like you’ve found the key that will unlock profound change for your clients. There’s a buzz of excitement and relief at the potential for transformation.

However, over time, this initial enthusiasm may wane. You might encounter challenges with certain clients, or feel conflicted, as if you’re breaking the rules or betraying another modality you value.

I understand this journey. I’ve experienced the transformative power of each modality. I’ve felt the thrill as the parts of me eager to make a difference saw the potential in new approaches. Yet, I’ve also faced the inner voice that carries doubts, telling me I’m doing it wrong, that my intuition and experience are misguided, and that I might be causing harm.

I’ve wrestled with concerns about the validity of my approach and whether combining EMDR and IFS might shortchange my clients. This left me feeling paralyzed and stuck.

Through my own consultation experiences, I’ve learned to integrate both modalities effectively, reconnecting with my inner wisdom and deep trust in myself as a therapist.

I invite you to join a brave space for learning, where you can connect with the parts of yourself navigating the integration of these two powerful modalities. Together, through consultation, we can explore and overcome the challenges, enhancing your confidence and skills as a therapist.

A Little About Me:

  • I am an avid hockey fan. My favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche.

  • I love dogs. I have two rescue dogs, Lorelai (Yes, from Gilmore Girls!) and Newton.

  • Being in water is my happy place! I love swimming and splashing around in my pool.

  • I have a newfound appreciation for nature.  I enjoy doing anything outdoors!
